Office Visits

What to expect at your visit.

Many people are nervous about visiting the orthodontist. And we understand. It’s our job to put you at ease. We want you to feel comfortable, which is why we work to build relationships with our patients. Our office is a relaxing place for families. Many of our patients have been with us for years, recommending their spouse, neighbor, or sibling once their own treatment is completed. And that level of trust is how we know we’ve succeeded.

Now that you know the type of care you can expect, we also want to provide you with some details about your first office visit:

• On your first visit, we will go over your dental and medical history. We will also take x-rays, and a dental technician will complete an oral exam. Our office will develop a customized treatment plan for you. Based upon your treatment plan and your individual needs, we will discuss financial options.
• The next step is an appointment for initial treatment. At this appointment, we will likely fit the actual orthodontic treatment, whether it is traditional braces, clear braces, or Invisalign®.
• You will return to the office for follow-up care every four to six weeks, depending on your needs.

A note on continuing dental care: Please continue to see your regular dentist for regular cleanings (at least every 6 months) during your orthodontic treatment.
